Hello, my name is Anna Lise De Lorenzo,
and I am a design producer, curator & event coordinator

About

I’m passionate about bringing projects to life that celebrate an industry and the individuals that make it up – in particular, the creative industries. I love getting behind the scenes, understanding how things work, and sharing that with a wider audience through events, exhibitions, talks and other forms of storytelling. I’ve presented talks on design, craftsmanship, creative entrepreneurs, the value of the handmade – and the value, benefits and immense satisfaction of making with your own hands.

In 2015 I founded MakerSpace &co, Australia’s largest public workshop facility.  As a registered cultural charity, MakerSpace provides employment pathways and skills training for designers, makers and creative entrepreneurs. Based in Sydney’s Inner West, MakerSpace provides 1000sqm of fabrication facilities for wood, metal, ceramics and digital making.

Prior to MakerSpace, I founded the predecessor, &company, where I curated exhibitions and produced events, pop-up shops and collaborations for emerging product designers and makers in Sydney. I also worked as an Engagement Strategist at ATP Innovations (Australia’s largest tech business incubator, now Cicada Innovations), and lectured at the University of Technology Sydney and University of New South Wales.

After 10 years running MakerSpace and &company, I relocated to Tasmania, where I’ve been consulting to arts businesses and developing new projects. I’m always looking for new opportunities – contact me.
